Book sale and Books to the Phillipines
We had an even more succesful book sale this year than last! The library earned $642 which will go toward new books, supplies and programs. Thank you to everyone who stopped by and purchased books. A dedicated group of volunteers worked hard all day loading books in and out of the library, sorting books, and speaking with customers. If you see Sharon Mayer, Karen Waterworth, Chris Orosz or Angelique and Sean Lee, please thank them. I'd like to thank my dad Henry Dane who came up from Massachusettes to help out too.
As you may know we were worried about finding a good home for the books we couldn't sell. We are thrilled that the Matulac family will once again be taking the books to send to a small town in the Philippines where they are creating a library. We are working on setting up a pen pal program with children from the town, so please check back. We will be looking for local pen pals to write back.
