Library Mushroom Walk September 2nd 2008

A report from volunteer Jason Hayden who led the library's mushroom walk:

We had 9 folks out on the walk and found some neat mushrooms.  Remember when in doubt throw it out!  We found Old man of the Woods, Golden Chanterelle, Ash Bolete, Shaggy Mane, various russula and lactarius and Boletes and some beautiful corts!

Never eat a mushroom unless you are absolutely sure it is safe...I don't pick most of the mushrooms I find and only have about 5 species out of thousands that I am willing to eat.
