PRINTMAKING
Please join us next week, our after school program will be printmaking.
We'll use plexiglass as our printing plates to explore different
techniques of making monoprints (a monoprint is a print that is a one
of a kind) and styrofoam to make simple printing plates so we can
experiment with making a series of the same image that vary in color,
and put them together to make a single work of art. This activity is
great for all ages, our inks will be waterbased, but bring an old
tshirt or smock to protect your clothes.
We will also have a special collection of books on printmaking and other crafts on display and available to check out.
What: Printmaking
When: Tuesday Feb. 26th from 3:45 (or when you get off the bus) to 5pm
Where: Pittsfield Library & Town Hall
Who: Kids 2nd grade and up, younger are welcome with an adult to assist them
Cost: Free as usual!
About 18 kids and adults turned out for our vacation week snowshoe outing. Joe led the group and stopped to demonstrate some some cold weather camping techniques. After the excursion we warmed up with snacks and hot chocolate thanks to Joyce Angelique and Courtney, while Joe spoke a bit about the importance of helping your team mates and about eating for energy. Afterwards most of the group headed to the library to see our April's display of Vermont extreme sports books and hear Saskia read some stories. As you can see from the photo to the left, we are getting lots of use out of the sign we purchased with Turrell grant funds.
Here are two slideshows of photos from the event. 1st photos by Angelique and Marion:
